Our remote technologists can view the video and EEG data, thus providing real time EEG monitoring. When the remote technologists have identified a critical change or event, they would then contact the covering neurophysiologist for assessment of the EEG changes who would then contact the treating care team with the results of the neurophysiologist assessment, so that the treatment course can be modified or adjusted as necessary.
Physician Notification
When brain emergencies occur such as seizures, status epilepticus, edema, ischemia or hemorrhage, the risk to the brain may not be immediately apparent due to altered mental status or subtle clinical changes. Continuous video-EEG monitoring can show real time changes that can guide immediate and meaningful adjustments or interventions in the treatment plan. EEG monitoring can also show changes that can help confirm or validate a working diagnosis such as metabolic encephalopathy or stroke as well as providing helpful prognostic information that assists the care team and family members in making critical care decisions.
